Taking on a few new contractors each month
Most business owners we meet already have a website. It sits there. The phone rings about as often as it did before they paid for it. Meanwhile someone two miles away types “AC repair near me” at nine at night, and a competitor’s name comes up instead of yours.
What we actually found
Every line in the middle column is something we found on a real contractor’s live site. Not one of them is hypothetical, and every one of those businesses was paying somebody for marketing at the time.
| What we found | How we build it | |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing texts | 93 in one month going out between midnight and 7am | Inside the 8am to 9pm window, enforced |
| Consent to contact | Wording naming a company with no legal entity, in 52 places | Names the entity you are actually registered as |
| Licence number | Another company’s, published in 48 page footers | Yours, checked against the register |
| Offer small print | An asterisk whose footnote was never written | The footnote, and a terms page behind it |
| Who builds it | Generated, skimmed, shipped | Software engineers, by hand |
| If it goes wrong | Your licence and your name are on the letter | It does not get built that way |
Federal rules allow marketing texts between 8am and 9pm only, and Florida, Oklahoma and Washington stop at 8pm. Read the four audits →
How we look at it
You run a multi-point check before you sign off on a system. We do the same thing with a website, and it comes down to three questions, in this order, because there is no point answering the second one until the first is sorted.
Can people find you at all?
When somebody nearby searches for what you do, does your name come up, in the map at the top and in the results underneath? If not, nothing else on this list matters yet.
Does it work when they land on it?
They found you and tapped through. Now your site has about three seconds to open and one job to do: make it obvious what you fix and how to ring you. Most sites lose people right here.
Are you covered when it works?
They found you, they landed on the site, they filled in the form. Now: are you allowed to ring them back? Is your license number where your state expects it? If you are running a spring discount, is there anything in writing behind it? This is the part that turns a lead into a job instead of a problem.
The part nobody tells you
You paid for a website. It looks fine. It has been up for a year or two. And as far as you can tell, it has never once brought you a job.
Here is what usually happened. Google never really got a good look at it. Or it did, but could not work out what you do or which towns you cover, so it quietly put you behind a dozen competitors. Or your business was never properly put on the map at the top of the results, the one with three companies and a phone number, where most people tap before they scroll anywhere else.
None of that is visible when you pull up your own website. It looks finished. That is exactly why it can go unnoticed for years, while you assume this whole internet thing just does not work for a business like yours.
It does. It was just never set up to.
What we actually do
Most cheap websites are one template with your logo dropped in. They are slow, they look like everyone else’s, and they were never really built for your business. Yours gets built from scratch. It opens in about a second on a phone with two bars of signal in somebody’s driveway, which is exactly where your customer is standing when they need you.
A website that does not come up when someone searches is not really a website. It is a receipt. So getting you onto Google, both the normal results and the map at the top, is part of the build. Not an extra we come back and sell you six months later once you notice nothing has happened.
Your web address, your Google listing, your website, your logins. All set up under you, with us added as a helper you can remove whenever you like. Plenty of companies put these in their own name so that leaving them costs you everything you have built. We think that is a hostage situation, not a business.
The part nobody warns you about
Your license number. The name you are actually registered under. Written terms for that spring offer. The small print that has to sit next to a finance rate. A notice if a machine answers your chat. Permission before you text somebody back.
None of it is difficult. It is just that nobody building websites knows the list exists, so it does not get built, and you find out about it from a letter rather than from your web designer.
We do the whole pack as part of the job. Not as an extra, and not as a scare tactic , half of it will not even apply to you, and we will tell you which half.
One example, in full
Applies to: Any form on your site that takes a phone number.
A separate checkbox the customer ticks themselves (not pre-ticked, and not required to send the form) with wording that says who may contact them and how, plus a dated record of exactly what they agreed to.
Federal law sets damages of $500 to $1,500 per message for marketing calls and texts sent without written permission. It is one of the most heavily litigated consumer laws in the country, and most contractor websites we look at have no box at all.
What you get
A site built from scratch for your business. Loads fast on a phone, says what you do in plain language, and gives Google everything it needs to show you.

There is no salesperson here, no account manager passing your questions along to somebody you never meet, and nobody overseas working through a list of tickets.
We are software engineers, which mostly means we read the manual and check our work before we tell you something is done. When we do not know something, we say so instead of talking around it.
The trade-off is that we only take on a few jobs at a time. If we are full, we will tell you when we are not, rather than taking your money and doing it badly.
You will have a phone number that reaches an actual person who worked on your site.
Most web designers build the site and stop there. That is the whole job to them. But a website sitting on the internet that nobody finds does not bring you work. We do the building and the getting-found part together, because on their own neither one earns you anything.
No. And be careful with anyone who does. They are either guessing or about to do something that gets your listing shut down. What we can promise is that the work gets done properly, that you will see exactly what changed each month, and that we will tell you straight if something is not working.
Honestly, you are in a better spot than most. There is nothing broken to undo. We start clean: the website, your Google listing and everything else built together from day one, which is faster and cheaper than fixing somebody else’s mess.
A full build usually starts in the low four figures, and ongoing help is a flat monthly fee you can stop any time. The real numbers are on our pricing page. We are not going to make you sit through a call to find out if you can afford us.
We do. We are a small local team and there is nobody in the middle. The person you talk to first is the person building your site, and you will have their number.
Three to five weeks for most builds. The part that slows it down is almost never us. It is waiting on photos, your service list, and answers about how your business actually runs. Get us those quickly and it moves fast.
We will take a proper look at your current site and tell you why it is not bringing you work. Whether Google can even find it, how you stack up against the competition nearby, and whether your contact form could land you in trouble. It is free, and it is yours to keep whether or not you hire us.
