HVAC contractors
SEO for HVAC contractors
You are number one for your own company name. Now win “AC repair near me” — the search that actually pays, and the one you are almost certainly invisible for. It is a fixable problem, and fixing it is most of what we do.
No spam and no sales sequence. One reply, from a person.
Any of this sound familiar?
- You are top of Google for your own company name, and nowhere for “AC repair near me”
- The outfit across town does worse work and sits above you in the map
- Your Google listing was claimed once and never finished
- You have got two hundred good reviews and nothing is being done with them
- July is flat out and February is dead quiet
- You are paying Angi for leads you should be getting for free
If three or more of those are true, none of it is a workmanship problem. It is a being-found problem, and it is cheaper to fix than you think.
What we actually do about it
Get you in the map, not just the list
The three businesses in the box at the top of Google take most of the calls. That box is a different system from the rest of the results, and it is won on your listing — the categories, the services, the photos, the reviews. That is where we start, because it moves first.
A page for each thing you actually do
AC repair, furnace replacement, duct cleaning, heat pumps. One page each. Most contractor sites have a single “Services” page trying to rank for all of it, which is why it ranks for none of it.
Get ready before the weather turns
Your phone rings when it gets hot, not when your marketing goes live. A page put up in July is ready for next July. We work a season ahead so the ranking already exists when the first heat wave decides your summer.
Turn the reviews you already have into calls
Somebody whose furnace died is choosing in about four seconds off a star rating and a review count. Fresh beats plentiful. We build the asking into how your techs finish a job, and we answer every one.
Why we would start in your quiet season
Your phone rings when the weather turns. The trouble is that Google does not turn on the same day. A new page takes somewhere between two and four months to be crawled, trusted and settled into position — so a page put up during the first heat wave is ready roughly in time for the last one.
The calendar therefore runs backwards from your busy season, not forwards from today:
- Cooling work starts in February. AC pages, emergency repair, the “not blowing cold” searches. Live and settled before the first hot week decides your summer.
- Heating work starts in August. Furnace repair and replacement, no-heat calls, tune-ups. Ready before the first freeze, not during it.
- The shoulder months are the working months. April, May, September and October are when the building gets done, because nothing you build in July or January arrives in time to matter.
Which means the best month to start is the one where the phone is quiet and spending money feels worst. That is not a sales line — it is just how the timing works, and it is the single most expensive thing contractors get wrong about this.
What the first ninety days actually looks like
So you know what you are buying, and can tell whether it happened. No agency should be vague about this and most are.
- Weeks 1–2 — your Google listing. The right primary category, every service you actually sell listed out, correct hours, a proper service area, real photographs. This is the part that moves first and it is the part most often left half done.
- Weeks 2–4 — the boring foundations. Whether Google has actually indexed your pages, how fast the site loads on a phone on mobile data in somebody's driveway, and whether your contact form works on every handset. There is no point ranking for “emergency furnace repair” if the page takes nine seconds to open.
- Weeks 4–10 — the pages that pay next season. One page per service, plus the towns you genuinely cover. Written for the season that has not started yet.
- Ongoing — reviews and where you actually rank. A way of asking that fits how your techs finish a job, and rank checking from several points across your service area rather than one — because a single check from our desk would flatter you and tell you nothing about the edges of your patch.
What it costs
Priced up front, on the website, because you should not have to sit through a call to find out whether you can afford it.

You want the phone ringing in February, not just in July.
What we will not tell you
- That we can get you page one in thirty days
- That we can put you in the map in a town you have no address in — nobody can
- That you need a twelve-month contract
- That we can make Google notice you are better than the other guy. It cannot see that.
Markets we have done the homework on
We take one HVAC company per market, and we only write up a city once we know what people there are actually typing — which is rarely what the national templates assume.
Not on the list? That is not a no — tell us where you are and the first thing we do is find out what your market searches for.
Worth reading if you are weighing this up
- Are Angi leads worth it? A shared lead goes to three to five of you at once. Worked through to cost per booked job it lands near $542 — here is the arithmetic on your own numbers
- AI SEO for HVAC Homeowners now ask ChatGPT who to call and it answers with three names. A two-minute test to find out whether one of them is yours
- How Google picks the map pack three The box above every organic result, where it comes from, and which of the three ranking factors you can actually move
What contractors ask us
How long before my phone rings more?
The listing work moves first — usually a few weeks before you see the map position change. The website side takes two to four months to settle. Anyone promising you page one in thirty days is either lying or about to get your listing suspended.
Why is the company down the road above me when I do better work?
Nine times out of ten it is his Google listing, not his workmanship. If his listing says "Air conditioning repair service" and yours says "HVAC contractor", Google reads his as the closer match when somebody types "ac repair near me". Google cannot see who does better work. It can only read what you told it you do.
Do I have to stop paying Angi?
Not on day one. Keep the leads coming while we build the thing that replaces them. The point is to stop renting customers who were already looking for you.
What do you need from me?
About an hour on the phone, the login to your Google listing, and some photos of your vans and crew taken on a phone. That is genuinely it. We do not need to visit — we work with contractors right across the country and none of this needs anybody standing in your yard.
What if it does not work?
You get the Game Plan in writing before you pay us anything, and it is yours to keep — take it to another agency if you like. On the monthly plan you can stop any month. We do not do twelve-month contracts, because they exist to protect the agency from the client noticing.
Find out where you actually stand
We look at your website and your Google listing by hand and write up what is holding you back — in the order it is costing you money. Free, and yours to keep.
